The Lady Titans host Lakeview Fort Olgethorpe (LFO) at 6:00 on Tuesday, February 19th

Parents, Players, and Supporters:

Thanks to everyone who came out to support the Lady Titans on Saturday night. It was a special evening for the Lady Titans and we were glad to share it with you. Great to see so many Men's Titan parents in the stands supporting us and letting the officials know what type of job they were doing.

I wanted to invite everyone out on Tuesday.  Its winter break so please pass the word on to anyone you know.

(Parents Reducing Injuries and Driver Error) is a FREENational Award- Winning two-hour course designed to help parents and their new (or soon to be) teen drivers, ages 14-16, learn what they need to do during the 40 hours of supervised practice driving time required by Georgia law. This is not a hands-on, mechanical "how-to" course, but a class that addresses driving attitude and behavior of teenagers.
This course will:

-teach parents how to help their teenagers become safe drivers
-alter attitudes and driving behaviors of novice teenage drivers

Titan Basketball "Teacher Appreciation Night"

Last night I had the privilege of participating in the North Oconee Basketball Teacher Appreciation Night.

Athletes had identified a teacher that was meaningful to them and presented them with the certificate where they had written something to the teacher describing how they had inspired them.  Each teacher was called one-by-one and while the certificates were read, the teachers ran through a ‘tunnel’ of athletes and supporters while all fans cheered them on.  The smiles on their faces were so fun to watch!  What an impressive group of teachers and athletes.  The teachers covered topics from dance, english, math to physics – quite a diverse set of teachers and all had inspired these athletes.
I was impressed hearing the comments with how thoughtful and inspiring they were.  Each athlete really honored their teacher and it was evident to all.
I am a strong believer in the contribution that athletics make to our students.  The life lessons any athlete learns better equips them to handle life’s challenges, and often helps our students become more engaged in their academic programs.  Congratulations to the athletes and the teachers at North Oconee High School.
